In the men’s half marathon walk it was a Victorian sweep on the podium, with Declan Tingay (VIC) taking out the win with a time of 1.23.59, with Will Thompson (VIC) in second with a time of 1.24.04, and Rhydian Cowley (VIC) third in 1.24.52. In her first experience at this distance, Pauline Stey flawlessly achieved the A qualifying standard for the European Championships in Birmingham, set at 1:34:00. Just one week after a stunning performance at the French Indoor Championships in the 3000m, where she lowered her own French record to 12:13.75, the Alsace Nord Athlé athlete confirmed her new status.   Today, March 7, Uzhhorod hosted the Ukrainian Team Athletics Championship in Race Walking among adults, youth, juniors and young men. Based on the results of this tournament, the Ukrainian national team will be formed to participate in the World Team Race Walking Championship, which will be hosted by Brasilia (Brazil) on April 12. Uzhhorod is a Ukrainian city located in the far west of the country, near the border with Slovakia. The program included the Half Marathon as the main events, with 17 athletes lining up at the start (10 men and 7 women), and the Marathon, unfortunately  without participants!
