Two fantastic face-offs in the race walking events counting towards the Gold Final of the 2026 National Club Championships.
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 20th, the heat and high humidity prevailed.

Men’s 10.000m Track Walk
The men’s race featured Tokyo Olympic champion Massimo Stano (Aden Exprivia Dai Optical Molfetta) and Brasilia World Team
Championships winner Francesco Fortunato (Enterprise Sport&Service), who were left alone after half the race.
Stano walk a forceful race, while Fortunato was a bit more cautious.
With 1,5 laps to go, Fortunato forced the decisive attack, finishing the 10.000m in 38:48.31, a five-second lead over Stano (38:53.75).
Trieste Atletica took third place, thanks to Emiliano Brigante (40:34.76), despite charged by two red cards.

Women’s 5.000m Track Walk
The women’s 5.000m race walk also came to a close with a couple of laps to go, when Sofia Fiorini (Libertas Unicusano Livorno) broke free of Alexandrina Mihai (Atl. Brescia 1950/Fiamme Oro) and sprinted to the finish line: Fiorini took 21:30.45, with Mihai finishing second in 21:37.56.
Third place to China’s Peng Li (22:06.74), competing for SSD Nissolino Sport Srl, achieved a personal best.
