10.000m Senior Track Walk (men & women)
Among the men, Gianluca Picchiottino (Fiamme Gialle) improved his time, finishing with a time of 38:43.25. A couple of weeks after his half marathon at the World Team Championships in Brasilia, the 29-year-old from Livorno shaved a handful of seconds off his personal best of 38:57.96, set two years ago, and moved up the all-time list: he is now seventh all-time nationally. Luigi Reis (Trieste Atletica), born in 2003, also improved, clocking 40:22.40, shaving over a minute off his personal best, and Livorno native Omar Moretti (Cus Pro Patria Milano), newly entered into the U23 category, improved even further, dropping to 40:23.65. Reis and Moretti are expected to make their senior national team debuts on May 8th in the half marathon in Podebrady.
