Crediamo che per la vittoria la gara si sia già definitivamente conclusa. Invece sembra interessante la lotta per le altre medaglie.
Ai 12km: Tekdal 55:30 (4:49). Niedzialek e Pena (57:22) seguite da Smerdova (57:24). Dietro Chamosa (58:04) ha superato Zurek e Terrec (58:05). E’ stata squalificata la Portoghese Maria Santos Bernardo.
Ai 13km: Tekdal 1:00:10 (4:40). Niedzialek ha allungato (1:02:05) su Pena (1:02:11). Segue Smerdova (1:02:14) e Antia Chamosa (1:02:58) che ha staccato Zurek (1:03:10) e Terrec (1:03:22)
Ai 14km: Tekdal 1:04:53 (4:43). Niedzialek (1:06:50) è seguita a 7” da Yana Smerdova (1:06:57) che sta rientrando in corsa per le medaglie. Dietro le due spagnole: Pena (1:07:12) e Chamosa (1:07:55).
Ai 15km: Tekdal 1:09:36 (4:43) sembra un rullo compressore più che un cronometro per come inanella i giri. Dietro Olga Niedzialek (POL) in 1:11:37. Ma per lui la situazione tecnica si fa pesante: due red cards per contatto. Per il bronzo sembra averla spuntata Yana Smerdova (1:11:44) su Marina Pena (1:12.:17). Segue Antia Chamosa (1:12:52)
Ultimi 5 km
Ai 16km: Tekdal 1:14:21 (4:45). Seguono Olga Niedzialek (1:11:37) e Yana Smerdova (1:16:35). Quarta Marina pena (1:17:15) seguita da Antia Chamosa (1:17:49). Si fanno sotto brillantemente Sofia Alikanioti (GRE) in 1:18:38 e Lidia Barcella (ITA) in 1:18:40 che hanno superato Teresa Zurek (1:18:43).
Ai 17km: Tekdal 1:19:21 (5:00). Un chilometro di respiro per la Turca che vuole assaporare il piacere della vittoria. Seguono assieme Olga Niedzialek e Yana Smerdova (1:21:23) ad oltre 2 minuti. Marina Pena è quarta in 1:22:15, seguita da Antia Chamosa (1:22:47). Molto brava Lidia Barcella (1:23:32) a superare e distanziare Sofia Alikanioti (1:23:49).
Ai 18km: Tekdal 1:23:33 (5:12). La stanchezza comincia a farsi sentire ed il rullo compressore perde qualche colpo. Per l’argento Olga Niedzialek (1:26:18) guadagna qualche secondo su Yana Smerdova (1:26:20). Marina Pena è quarta in 1:27:20, seguita da Antia Chamosa (1:27:44). Segue Lidia Barcella (1:28:25).
Ai 19km: Ayse Tekdal 1:29:36 (5:03), affaticata, ma in testa dall’inizio in una gara fino ad ora entusiasmante. Solo 5” dividono Olga Niedzialek (1:31:13) e Yana Smerdova (1:31:18), l’argento si deciderà negli ultimi 1.000m. Marina Pena è quarta in 1:32:19, seguita da Antia Chamosa (1:32:41). Segue Lidia Barcella (1:33:19).
