Today the news of another goodbye in the international world of walking is surprising.
That of Julia Tackacs (ESP) who with her smile and her beauty was not only a great athlete but also a strong promoter of race walking in Spain.
Julia Takacs, second European in the Berlin 2018 50km walk, announced her retirement in a message posted on social networks. "Life is made up of stages, and mine as an athlete has come to an end", says the athlete born in Budapest and of Spanish nationality since June 2008.
Julia Takacs tells of having lived "exciting moments" but above all of having met "incredible people". She feels grateful "especially to those who have allowed me to obtain those medals, excellent results and records".
She cites her coach, José Antonio Quintana- "He put up with me for 11 years at Blume" -and Montse (Pastor) and Chuso (García Bragado), "who, in addition to their professionalism, made me feel like a family ."
Finally, she extends her thanks to the Spanish Federation, her club and the University of Murcia. "To the Spanish Federation, which has always helped me, for better or for worse. To the Playas de Castellón, of which I have been a member since 2013, to UCAM, which in recent years has given me the opportunity to study again".
"I can't ask for more from life, I can only say THANK YOU", concludes the 33-year-old walker, holder of the Spanish record of 50km (4:05:46 in 2019) and 5.000m of track walk (20:30.04 in 2014), as well as Spanish champion of 50km (2018), 20km (2013-2014) and 10,000m of track walk (2009-2011-2013-2014-2015-2017).

Hoy sorprende la noticia de otro adiós en el mundo internacional de la marcha.
La de Julia Tackacs (ESP) que con su sonrisa y su belleza no solo fue una gran atleta sino también una fuerte promotora de la marcha en España.
Julia Takacs, subcampeona de Europa de 50 km marcha en Berlín 2018, anunció su retirada en un mensaje publicado en redes sociales. "La vida son etapas, y la mía como atleta ha llegado a su fin", asegura la atleta nacida en Budapest y con nacionalidad española desde junio de 2008.
Takacs dice que ha vivido "momentos emocionantes" pero sobre todo ha conocido "a gente increíble". Se siente agradecida "ante todo a los que hicieron posible que consiguiera esas medallas, marcas, récords".
Cita a su entrenador, a José Antonio Quintana - "me aguantó 11 años en la Blume"- y Montse (Pastor) y Chuso (García Bragado), "que además de su profesionalidad me brindaron sentirme en familia".
Por último, extiende sus agradecimientos a la Federación Española, a su club y a la Universidad de Murcia. "A la Federación Española, que siempre me ha ayudado, en las buenas y en las malas. Al Playas de Castellón, al que pertenezco desde 2013, a la UCAM, que me dio la oportunidad de volver a estudiar estos últimos años".
"No le puedo pedir más a la vida, sólo puedo decir GRACIAS", concluye la marchadora, de 33 años, plusmarquista española de 50km (4h05:46 en 2019) y 5.000 metros marcha (20:30.04 en 2014), así como campeona de España de 50 km (2018), de 20 km (2013-2014) y de 10.000 m marcha (2009-2011-2013-2014-2015-2017).
