20/03/2022   Békéscsaba (HUN): Maté Helebrandt and Barbara Olah win the Hungarian 20km Championships

As every year, the Hungarian National Championships of the 20 km took place in Békéscsaba (218 km from the capital). This year the event was scheduled in March due to the international competition calendar.

At the departure time the weather was still cold, +3° Celsius and windy.

But this condition did not upset the leading athletes: both in the male and in the female part there was no doubt as to who deserved the gold medal.

Máté Helebrandt (3 times Olympian) and Barbara Oláh (2 times Olympian) achieved a good personal best.

The event was also attended by Slovak and Romanian athletes, mostly junior athletes who fought for a time of 10k.
