The 35km Irish Open Championships starts punctually at 11:00 local time on a fresh day in the park of Sant'Anna in Rhaeny (IRL).
 
 
35km men
 
 
Immediately in the lead was a group of 5 athletes: Callum Wilkinson (GBR), Perseus Karlstrom (SWE), Jakub Jelonek (POL), Stefano Chiesa (ITA) and Brerndan Boyce (IRL).
 
- at 10km:
 
Callum Wilkinson leads the race in 43:57
They follow him Perseus Karlstrom and Stefano Chiesa (44:12) followed in turn by Jakub Jelonek and Brendan Boyce (44:13).
More distanced Rafael Sikora (POL) in 45:25, Dominik King (GBR) in 45:56 and Nick Christie (USA), José Manuel Perez (ESP) and Daniel Kink all in 46:51
 
- from 10km to 20km:
 
Karlstrom, Chiesa, Jelonek and Boyce reach Wilkinson just before 11km, when the five pass together in 48:34.
At 15 km the group of leaders passes in 1:06:05 with only Stefano Chiesa a few meters away (1:06:08).
Up to 18km the five continue all together.
At 19km Callum Wilkinson with a partial of 3: 55.9 passes to lead in 1:23:13.
 
At 20km the split times are as follows:
- Wilkinson in 1:27:16 which the finishes his race
- Karlstrom in 1:27:57
- Boyce in 1:27:59
- Jelonek in 1:28:04
- Chiesa in 1:28:08
 
from 20km to 30km:
 
At 22km leading the race are Karlstrom and Boyce in 1:36:44 followed by Jelonek (1:36:51) and Chiesa (1:36:58).
At 25km the situation is as follows: Karlstrom (1:49:27), Boyce (1:49:42), Jelonek (1:50:09) and Chiesa (1:50:12) who stops immediately as scheduled. They are followed by Jose Manuel Perez (1:52:55) and Nick Christie (1:53:10).
At 28km the situation is as follows: Karlstrom (2:02:08), Boyce (2:02:30), Jelonek (2:03:35), Jose Manuel Perez (2:06:06) and Nick Christie (2:06:27).
 
At 30km the split times are as follows:
- Karlstrom in 2:10:39
- Boyce in 2:11:16
- Jelonek in 2:12:34

- Nick Christie in 2:15:23

- Jose Manuel Perez in 2:15:31

 

last 5km:

 

Two laps to go, Karlstrom's leading race (2:23:25) on Boyce (2:24:17) continues.
Followed by: Jelonek (2:26:25), Christie (2:29:06) while Jose Manuel Perez stopped, as planned, at 30km.
At the bell Karltrom has a 58" lead over Boyce. Jelonek is far.
 
Victory for Perseus Karlstrom (SWE) in 2:31:54
Second place to Brendan Boyce (IRL) in 2:32:49
Third place to Jakub Jelonek (POL) in 2:35:42
Fourth place to Nick Christie (USA) in 2:38:16 new USA national record.

Fifth place to Rafal Sikora (POL) in 2:44:48

Sixth place to Bruno Erent (CRO) in 2:46:54 new national record of Croatia

Seventh place to Jerome Caprice (IRL) in 2:56:37

The competition is restricted to two athletes: Agnieszka Ellward (POL) and Kate Weale (IRL).
Agnieszka Ellward will win the race in 3:05:09
