Friday 3 December at the Estadio Pascual Guerrero in Cali, it is the turn of the women's race in the U23 Pan American Games.
There are 12 athletes at the start.
For the statistics they are: two athletes from Peru, two athletes from Ecuador, two athletes from Guatemala and one athlete from each of the following Countries: Mexico, Costa Rica, Brasil, Puerto Rico, Bolivia, Colombia.
The jury
The best accreditation time is that of Glenda Esfefania Morejon (ECU) who on May 29th obtained the result of 1:29:25, but Morejon boasts a personal best of much greater depth (1:25:29) obtained in the historic race of La Coruna of 8 June 2019 when incredibly forced all the best athletes of China and Erica De Sena to surrender.
No doubt the battle between Morejon and Sofia Elizabeth Ramos Rodriguez (MEX), the U20 world champion from Nairobi, should have been the main reason for the morning.
The "mail reason od the event" ceased after 55 minutes of competition when Sofia Ramos was disqualified after that in 8 minutes of competition four of the five judges of the jury sanctioned the nexina athlete with a red card for her walk as "not compliant with the rule".
Shortly after the same fate unites her to another athlete: Paula Milena Torres Sarango (ECU).
After this disqualification, Glenda Esfefania Morejon's (ECU) victory path became a highway that the young Ecuadorian calmly completed in 1:33:54.16 to get the gold.
Second place to Mary Luz Andia Arotaipe ((PER) in 1:35:26.52
Third place to Laura Cristina Chalarca Mojica (COL) in 1:35:54.97
