The British Tom Bosworth, representative of the Tonbridge Athletics Club, was the winner of the 10 km race of the Road Walking Meeting held yesterday in Leeds, England, on the initiative of the «National Center for Race Walking Foudation».
10km men
Tom Bosworth (GBR) set a good time of 40:46, with split times of 20:31 and 20:15 in the two parts of 5km, showing an improvement in his physical condition after the 20km of the British «Trials» at the end of March in Kew Gardens, London, where he was guaranteed Olympic qualification.
Second place to Cameron Corbishley (GBR), of Medway & Maidstone, in 43:23
Third place to Tom Partington (GBR) sub-23 of Manx Harriers, in 44:40
Fourth was George Wilkinson (GBR), of Enfield & Haringey, in 46:41
10km women
The victory went to Agata Kowalska (POL) who competes for the Hyde Park Harriers of Leeds Beckett University, in 50:53.
Bethan Davies (GBR), of Cardiff AC, and Jasmine Nicholls (GBR) of Leicester Walking Club did not finish the race
Of note, among other scheduled events, also the men's 20km, with the participation of Daniel King (GBR), of Colchester Harriers AC, clocked in 1:31:41.
In the women's 20km Gemma Bridge (GBR), from Oxford City, was disqualified.
