28/02/2021   Megara (GRE): Alexandros Papamichail and Antigoni Drismbioti win the 35km championship of Greece.






 

 

 

The 35 km Panhellenic championship took place today in Megara in the "Varea" area in Megara with our best athletes from Greece competing.
 
In addition to the 35km Panhellenic championship, the 20km, 10km races were also held. and 5km. for all other categories.
 
 
35km men
 
Alexandros Papamichail (GRE) was the winner in men in 2:36:45. This performance places him in fourth place in the world, in a race that will become part of the 2022 World Championship program in Oregon and will replace the 50km.
Papamichail has chosen from the start of the race to follow a steady pace. These are his split times:
- 5km: 22:48

- 10km: 45:18 (22:30)

- 15km: 1:07:50 (22:32)

- 20km:  1:30:19 (22:29)

- 25km: 1:52:53 (22:34)

- 30km: 2:15:21 (22:28)

Antigoni Drismbioti (GRE) added another good presence to her palmares, this time winning the 35km.
She finished the race in 2:50:04 and set the standard for early participation in the 2022 World Championship in Oregon, as her performance was better than the standard entry limit (2:54:00) for this event. At the same time, the seasoned athlete has shown that she is in excellent shape ahead of the Olympic Games, an event for which she has had an attendance limit since last year.

- 5km: 23:55

- 10km: 47:55 (24:00)

- 15km: 1:11:54 (23:59)

- 20km:  1:35:58 (24:04)

- 25km: 2:00:09 (24:11)

- 30km: 2:24:46 (24:37)

Excellent impression also Kyriaki Filtisakou (GRE) second with 2:55:15 as part of his preparation especially in view of the European U23 Championship. The Filtisakou in its passage at 20km. he stopped the clock in 1:39:46 thus obtaining a limit of participation in the event that will take place in Bergen, Norway.

Interesting result of Olga Fiaska (GRE) who scores in her second race over the 20km distance the new personal best of 1:36:53 (previous of 1:40:20, established in Patra, GRE on 16.2.2020).
Second place to Maria Seferiadi (GRE) in 1:51:26
 
 
In 20km men Zacharias Tsamoudakis (GRE) did not finish the race having stopped at 14km in 1:04:57. The results of the other categories in the Results section.
