19/10/2020   Biberach (GER): Biberacher Race Walking Championships

Biberach, a city in Germany located in the state of Baden-Württemberg, is a city to visit.

Right here are the oldest and best-preserved half-timbered houses in Germany, dating back to 1318, but the city is known for a singular monument in the center of the city's main square: the statue raised to human stupidity, or a great donkey metal composed of human bodies. This work is inspired by the first satirical novel written in German and bears this inscription "the case for the shadow of the donkey".

On Sunday 18th, however, Biberach hosted the Biberacher Race Walking Championships, an open 20km race open to men and women of all categories.
Obviously, as often happens on these occasions, the main category at the start was that of the Masters with seven athletes at the start.

20 km men

The 20km saw the victory of the young Leo Kopp (GER) who started with the clear aim of improving his personal best of 1:23:24 obtained in Naumburg (GER) on 13.4.2019.
And let's say right away that he succeeded.
His final mark was 1:22:20

In second place Nathaniel Seiler (GER) in 1:30:24
Third place to Carl Dohmann (GER) in 1:30:31 which one week after the 8th place obtained in Podebrady in 1:22:41 (he boasts a personal best of 1:21:26 obtained in Rome, ITA on 7.5.2016) preferred to do a training race and close in 1:30:31

20km women

Only Bianca Maria Dittrich (GER) at the start. She finishes her race in 1:45:30.
