Álvaro Martín Uriol, European champion in Berlin 2018, returned on Saturday (29/8) to competitive activity on the track of the "Ciudad Deportiva" de Cáceres field during the 1st day of the Absolute Extremadura Championship on a track organized by the local Federation regional athletics.
5.000m track walk men
Álvaro Martín had no problem winning the men's 5,000m test, with a mark of 19:59.39.
For Martin, Saturday's race was little more than good training. In fact it boasts a personal best on track distance of 18:39.65 which was established in Gijon (ESP) on 25.7.2015.
Second place to Miguel Periañez Garcia (ESP) in 23:11.92
Third place to Álvaro Danta Duran (ESP) in 24:41.17.
5.000m track walk women
In the women victory for U20 athlete Ana Pulgarín Cardeno (ESP) in 27:57.26.
Second place to Natividad Vidal Aleu (ESP) in 28:21.00
Third place went to the other U20 athlete Laura Vidal Lopez (ESP) in 30:24.05
