07/08/2020   The 100th anniversary of Ferruccio Pichi the walking Marshal of the "Pizzardoni Romani"

A beautiful milestone for one of the funniest and most original figures who made the "world of walking in Rome in the 1950s" is cut two days ago by Ferruccio Pichi.

He is certainly not one of the best-known names in the world of Italian walking, but Ferruccio Pichi, in the world of walking of Rome, was in the period of the 1950-1960s a very passionate walker, then an excellent executive manager and finally also the coach of the Group's team "Traffic Police of Rome".

Yes, the walkers of the "Traffic Police of Rome", those who in the Roman slang define themselves with the nickname of "Roman pizzardoni"
And just in 1959, Ferruccio Pichi led the "Roman pizzardoni" to success in the Italian Clubs Championship of Race Walking !

On August 5th Ferruccio Pichi turned 100 years old !

Great joy for those who appreciated his dedication to the specialty of "heel and toe" and in the memory of the many walkers he directed and guided.

In the cover photo we see him portrayed together with the athletes of the "Traffic Police of Rome"
