Greece has also returned to racing and this time with the U18 National Championships which took place over the past weekend (25-26 July 2020).
The two walk events were held on the morning of the second day (26 July) on the usual distances for the U18 category: 10,000m track walk for the U18 boys and 5,000 track walk for U18 girls.
10.000m track walk boys
Easy win for Alexandros Mortzakis (GRE) in 46:57.25. The young Greek born in 2003 had already obteined this season (19.7.2020) in Patra (GRE) the new personal best of 46:35.35, while on the road he boasts a 45:26
Second place to Andreas Elefterios Mpachos (GRE) in 47:09.43. This young man from 2003, on the other hand, improved his personal best taking him from the previous one of 47:50.10 established in Patra (GRE) on 4.7.2020.
Third place to Aristotelis Mpousdas (GRE) in 48:22.17
5.000m track walk girls
Victory to Anastasia Antonopoulou (GRE) in 24:40.74. Also for this young woman of 2004 new personal best (previous of 24:41.40 established in Trikala, GRE on 4.7.2019)
Second place to Chrisanthi Arvanitakou (GRE) in 26:10.68 new personal best (previous of 26: 56.48 established in Trikala, GRE on 4.7.2019)
Third place to Maria Myrto Tsimigatou (GRE) in 26:10.21
