14/07/2020   Kobe (JPN): Victories of Yutaro Murayama and Minori Yabuta in local championships

The Hyogo Prefecture Championships were also held on Sunday 12 July in Kobe, Japan.

Also in this case the two races were held on the distance of the 5.000m track walk.
The results are fairly good even if, given that they are local championships in a Prefecture, the best athletes in Japan were not present and they have become accustomed to highly interesting performances.

5.000m track walk men

However, a race of good interest with 11 athletes at the start.

We are allowed to thank through our personal friend Tomoya Ishii, also the athlete's father, Takehiro Murayama, to whom our heartfelt thanks go for the collaboration given with the photographic and video support. We will never tire of thanking these occasional collaborators, passionate about walking, who allow us to complete our reports.

A race in which Hiroto Jushio (JPN) starts immediately in the lead: Among other things, he boasts a highly respected personal best (20:11.72) established in Matsuyama, JPN on 9.10.2017.
It is clear that he tries to assert his best palmares over his opponents.
Split times each 1,000m are as follows:
- 1.000m: 3:39 with a 10" lead over Takehiro Murayama (3:49)
- 2.000m: 7:47 (4:32), the advantage has stabilized at around 80m
- 3.000m: 11:53 (4:08) with the advantage ranging between 70m and 75m.
between the 3rd and 4th km Jushio Hiroto presents some technical problems that lead him to break up evidently with a walk outside the canons of the rule, which adds to some recalls previously received.
He still leads at 4,000m mark in 15:56 (4:03), but a few meters later is reached and overtaken by Takehiro Murayama, who finds his way towards victory.
Jushio Hiroto is then disqualified by the jury.

Victory therefore easy enough for Yutaro Murayama (JPN) in 20:21.09.
To be a return to the races after the pandemic stop, his performance is not at all comptentible and not so far from the personal best of 20:01.51 obtained in Kitami (JPN) on 17.7.2019.
Second place for Yuhei Hattori (JPN) in 21: 24.91 (personal best), before the pandemic on 16.2.2020 in Kobe, this young athlete from 2002 had obtained an interesting 43:22 in his first outing on the 10km
Third place for Kota Takamatu (JPN) in 21: 54.61 which boasts the same time on 10km as 43:22, but dating back to 18.2.2018).

5.000 track walk women

Even in the women's race eleven athletes at the start, and a good result.

Victory for Minori Yabuta (JPN) in 22:49.24.
The young athlete (born 2002) already boasts a personal best of 22:20.10 (obtained in Hitachinaka, JPN on 7.10.2019), and an interesting 22:12 on the road distance obtained with the victory in the U20 race of women on home usual course in Kobe on 16.2.2020.
Her split times every 1.000m:

- 1.000m: 4:23

- 2.000m: 8:55 (4:32)
- 3.000m: 13:31 (4:14)
- 4.000m: 18:12 (4:41)
