The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have reduced the doping ban for Russian race walker Alexander Ivanov from three years to two.
Ivanov, 26, who originally won gold at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow and silver the following year at the European Championships, was stripped of his medals after his Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) was found to have violated anti-doping rules.
The athlete had looked to annul the decision, but due to evidence found, he was given the mandatory two-year ban.
He originally had been given another year of ineligibility for "aggravating circumstances", becoming a suspension of three years.
Due to an appeal by Ivanov against the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) in relation to the decision, the period of ineligibility was reduced to two years, starting from May 2 2017.
The decision means Ivanov is now eligible to compete, however his medals from July 9 2012 to August 17 2014 have been stripped.
