06/04/2019   Pdebrady (CZE): Karla Serrano (MEX) and Cesar Cordova (MEX) win in the U20s






In the morning of Podebrady the day began with the U18 category races on 5km, both male and female, which were followed by the races reserved for the masters, always on the distance of 5km.

 
Subsequently the U20 races started on the 10km distance.
 
 
10km U20 women
 
Immediately goes to lead the race Rachelle De Orbeta (PUR) who passes in the lead at 5.000m in 22:59, followed by Karla Serrano (MEX) detached from 23" (23:22)
Third is Sofia Ramos (MEX) 23:58 (+59 ")
Fourth is Andrada Lavinia Lacatus (ITA) who, however, wears the jersey of Lombardy, as he does not yet hold an Italian passport.
Shortly after halfway through the race Rachelle de Orbeta while is leading the race with a good advantage and is stopped and disqualified.
 
At 6km the situation is the following: in the head Karla Serrano (28:13) followed by Sofia Ramos (28:51) and Andrada Lavinia Lacatus (29:09)
Karla Serrano (33:05) is still leading the 7km, as well as at 8km (38:01). Nut at 8km Andrada Lacatus  has reached Ramos.
In the last two km Karla Serrano (MEX) continues with her pace (4:44 at 4:50) and wins in 47:36.
Lacatus forces the pace between seven and eight kilometers and takes the second position with a time of 48:13
Third place for Ramos Sofia (MEX) in 48:20
 
For the team classification, given that the Lacatus cannot be part of the Italian team, France and Italy reach the same score, but France wins as Pauline Stey preceded Sara Buglisi.
 
 
 

 

 
 
10km U20 men
 
Cesar Cordova (MEX) takes the lead at the top of the race and maintain it for all the race.
His pass at 5km is 20:29 and judging by how his walk is going, the race can be said to be already finished as far as victory is concerned.
 
They follow him at 5km Christopher Snook (GBR) in 21:21 and a group of Italians, French and Slovaks in 21:47
While Cesar Cordova continues to run unchallenged among the pursuers, Gabriele Gamba, who does not compete for the national team of Italy, but for the team of Lombardy, goes first to approach Snook and then reach him immediately after the 8km he had seen the following steps:
- Cordova: 33:03
- Snook: 34:56
- Leg: 34:59
- So: 35:03
 
In the last 2km Cesar Cordova continues with his gait and goes on to win in 41:24.
Gabriele Gamba (ITA) tries to stay with Christopher Snook (GBR) and succeeds until the final 500m when the Englishman reaches out and finishes in second place (43:37).
Third place for Gabriele Gamba (ITA) in 43:41
Fourth place for Andrea Cosi (ITA) in 43:56
 
For the team classification, given that Gamba had not been included in the national team yet a victory for France in front of Italy.
