In the 2014 edition Ruslan Dmytrenko (UKR) had won in Taicang  the World Cup of Race Walk on the distance of 20km.

This year the Ukrainian athlete decided at the last moment not to compete.

The decision of the athlete who also appeared in the first version of the entry list of Apr. 20., 2018, is the consequence of having received from Wada a letter in which he is charged of an potential violation of anti-doping rules based on disparity data recorded in the years in his biological passport.

In order to avoid misunderstandings and gossip Ruslan Dmytrenko and his trainer Dennis Tobias in statement, which was made public on the website of the Federation of Ukraine, the athlete states that obviously the suspect is not yet a final sentence, but that in any case he took the political choice to withdraw this year from participation in the World Race Walk Team Championship.

Dmytrenko adds that in the coming days he will request documentation to Wada and then consult with national and international experts on haematology and metabolism to respond promptly to the Wada.
