The favors should all be for Meryem Bekmez (TUR) who enters with a personal best of 44:11.69 (second place at the U20 World Championships in Tampere on 14.7.2018) even though this year she did not compete on the track distance, but only on that in the street, in Izmir on 3.3.2019 where she was capable of an excellent 44:25.
The seasonal leaders instead is Olga Fiaska (GRE) able this year of a good 46:39.06 obtained Katerini (GRE) on 22.6.2019 nand therefore il the most important alternative to the overwhelming power of the athlete of Turkey.

20km men

20 athletes are registered representing twelve countries.

If we were to confront each other on personal best, there would be no doubt that the favorite should be Riccardo Orsoni (ITA) who in fact has the best time of the season of 42:55.53 obtained in Rome (ITA) 28.4.2019, and also improved in the road race on European Cup in Alythus won in 42:43.

But it is precisely road performances that make every prediction more difficult.
We mention some athletes that we believe could fight for a medal and even for victory.
- Mikita Kaliada (BLR) with a personal best on track of 41:51.76
- Lukasz Niedzialez (POL) with a personal best on track of 42:10.17, but capable of a 40:23 on the road to Zaniemsyl (POL) on 13.4.2019. Among other things, the Polish athlete will want to improve the result of the European Cup, when after a Penalty Stop he was forced to end the race only third..
Not to be excluded also the other two Italians Aldo Andrei (ITA) and Andrea Cosi (ITA) respectively with a personal best and best time of the season of 43:34.24 (Andrei) and 45:31:45 (Cosi), Duc Matteo  (FRA)  capable of 43:29.50 on track) and Pedro Conesa (ESP) who has a 42:59 on road distance.
