The Gold Final of Florence is the one that presents the most interesting athletes.
They start with about twenty minutes of delay (the scheduled departure was 20:10) on a beautiful evening in a stadium, however, almost empty with only the experts and the teaam leaders of the clubs involved for the Championships.
The men starts for their 25 laps in lane 1, while the women start in lane 5, shortly after the third hurdle of the 400hs and compete for 11 laps + 269.63 meters.

Eleonora Dominici (ITA), Valentina Trapletti (ITA) and Nicole Colombi (ITA) immediately took the lead.
After a couple of laps Nicole Colombi comes off a few feet and leaves the company of the other two athletes.
Approximately two thirds of the race Valentina Trapletti forces the pace that puts an end to the struggle for victory.

A solo competition by Francesco Fortunato who evidently wanted to avenge the not-so-good-looking race of Alytus.
Always in the lead from the beginning to the end he inflicted on the second arrived over 2 laps.
Wins in 39:00.79 which represents the new personal best on the distance (precedent of 39:44.14 established in Orvieto, ITA on Apr. 23, 2017).
