01/05/2019   Békéscsaba (HUN): Yerko Araya (CHI) and Viktoria Madarász (HUN) won the 20km






Last Sunday (28/4) the Hungarian national championships 20km road walk took place in Békéscsaba.

 
The most important test of the 20km was open.
 
 
20km men
 
Victory for Yerko Araya (CHI) who finished the race in 1:26:40
Second place for Dominik Cerny (SVK) in 1:26:52
Third place for Bence Barnaba Venyercsan (HUN) in 1:26:58 who gets with this time the standard entry for the qualification to the World Championships in Doha.
 
Venyercsán thus wins the title of Hungarian Champion and is accompanied on the podium of the championships by Srp Miklós Domonkos, (1:27:30), and Tomasz Bagdány (1:29:24)
 
The U23 national title was obtained by Norbert Tóth (HUN), still U20 athlete who gets the new personal best with a time of 1:31:28 (previous 1:36:49 obtained in Dudince, SVK on March 23, 2019)
 
 

 

 
 
20km women
 
In the women's race, victory for Viktoria Madarász (HUN) with a time of 1:32:28, entry standard qualification for Doha World Championships.
Second place for Jessica Ching Siu Nga (HKG) with a time of 1:32:56, while the Hungarian podium was completed with Barbara Kovács (third overall) in 1:36:57, and Rita Récsei (fourth overall) in 1:39:52.
 
Daphne Dimanopulosz (HUN) with a time of 1:51:57, won the U23 category title.
