This morning in Izmir Inciralti (TUR) the 20km and 35km Turkey championships were held with races on the 10km for U20 and U18.
For the first time in Turkey she was invited to judge an international jury of three judges in order to make the mark obtained valid for the World Championships in Doha.
20km men
Winner of the race is Salih Korkmaz (TUR) (born on 1.1.1997) and we remember him having obtained the fourth place at the European Championships U23 in Bydgoszcz in 2017 when he was early 20s, but even more the bronze in Bydgoszcz in 2016 at the U20 World Championships.
The local star finished the 10km in 40:00 and then stopped the clock in the second part of the race with a good 41:37.
His total mark of 1:21:27 represents Turkey's U23 record on 20km.
At the same time the split time recorded at 10km (40:00) also represents Turkey's new record.

It was absent Meryem Bekmez (TUR) who last year in Berlin had obtained a very good 1:31:00 (national record) and therefore already qualified for Doha 2019.
The young Turkish (31.7.2000) has chosen to compete on the 10km U20 which won in 44:25

Also in this case we are facing Turkey's new U23 record on distance as well as being the second best ever performance of women in Turkey.

In U18 girls also raced Elzbeta Ragasova (SVK) who finished the race in second place with the mark of 25:09.
