20/02/2019   Torun (POL): Agnieszka Szwarnog and Dawid Tomala new Polish indoor champions






Last weekend also in Poland the Indoor National Championships took place.

 
The city that hosted them was Torun, the beautiful city on the Vistula river that saw the birth (1.501) of Nicolaus Copernicus, great Polish astronomer and mathematician of which exists in the city center a beautiful house of two late Gothic buildings of the end of 1.400 .
Torun has a wonderful Indoor facility for some years.
 
 
3.000m indoor women
 
Only seven athletes at the start of which six have completed the race.
 
Agnieszka Szwarnog (POL) took the lead immediately.
The 32 year old Polish has recorded the following split times:
- 1.000m: 4:11.42
- 2.000m: 8:27:19 (4:15.77) and then slow down
- last 1.000m in 4:32.86
 
Victory then for Agnieszka Szwarnog (POL) in 13:00.05
Second place for Agnieszka Ellward (POL) in 13:10.68
Third place for Katarzyna Zdzieblo (POL) in 13:19.81
 
 
 

 

 

 
 
5.000m indoor men
 
Immediately leads the race Rafal Augustyn (POL) which pass at 1.000m in 3:54.02
Between 1.000m and 2.000m is catched by Dawid Tomala (POL).
These are his split times:
- 2.000m: 7:43.41 (3:49.39)
- 3.000m: 11:40.76 (3:57.35)
- 4.000m: 15:37.84 (3:57.09) and then forces in the last 1.000m
- last 1.000m in (3:48.48)
 
Victory then for Dawid Tomala (POL) in 19:26.32
Second place to Rafal Augustyn (POL) in 19:35.29
Third place tp Artur Brzozowski (POL) in 19:44.57
 
Worth noting is the interesting personal best by Lukasz Niedzialek (POL), not yet 19 years old (he will celebrate the next March 15, 2019) that with the time of 20:29.21 obtained the new personal best (previous of 20:46.05 from the season 2016/2017 and always obtained in Torun, POL on Feb. 13, 2017.
