08/01/2019   Banska Bystrica (SVK): victories of Dominik Cerny (SVK) and Viktoria Madarasz (HUN)

On Friday 4 January, the indoor activity of 2019 was opened in Slovakia with the traditional race test dedicated to Matej Toth combined with the Slovak championships in the U20 category.

In total a parterre of 56 walkers have competed in Banska Bystrica. As usual, in addition to local ones, some were also from the Czech Republic and Hungary.

The head coach of Slovakia, Matej Spišiak, declared at the end of the races that he had seen a typical average performance at the beginning of the season when many athletes are still in intense training.
The only exception perhaps was that of Lubomir Kubis who compete very well obtaining in the indoor ring a time of just 17"45/100 higher than the personal best track ever obtained in Banska Bystrica on June 23, 2018 (20:59.46).
